Charniece White (she/her) is the Founder & Creative Director of the intersectional fashion and lifestyle companies Pinecone Row and Barkwood. Born in Baltimore and raised in Howard County, Maryland, Charniece is an economist, curator, pattern maker and full-package technical designer. For the last 10-years she has worked, trained under and consulted for both atelier brands such as Halston Heritage to full package clothing manufacturers with licensing rights for brands such as GAP, Banana Republic, Orvis and Woolrich.

She has blazed a trail as one of Los Angeles’ apparel industries leading Fit Technicians with past clients including Cult Gaia, Amiri, Fashion Nova, 7 For All Mankind, Birdy Grey, Perfect Number, SIWY Denim and her work most recently appeared on the red carpet at the 2022 Emmy Awards. Her B.A. Degree in Economics from Spelman College, A.A. Degree in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and studies in The Fashion Design Program for Adults at Parsons: The New School For Design in New York City prepared her for the development of her Full Package Apparel Manufacturing company CFW Patterns, Pinecone Row and Barkwood.

Inspired by the many black women fashion icons who came before her, Charniece curates and dreams for little black girls and children who don’t see representations of themselves in fashion not only on the runway but behind the runway. She is from the culture, for the culture and of the culture. Her brands are built on the mentality that it is not about the destination but the journey and experiences you cultivate along the way, how you share that journey and use that journey to leverage and help others after you.

A social justice, civil rights and women's rights activist, Charniece lives for being a champion for the underrepresented. A true polymath at heart, in her spare time she loves thrifting for throwback jems, studying economic trends and working at the intersections of data, technology, and sustainable fashion. You can catch her wanderlusting her way through local vegan eateries, decompressing in your local sauna or on social media: @charniecefrank@pineconerow or @barkwoodclothing.
